Some More Harry Potter......Well....You Can't Have Too Much.....Can You ?

My obsession with creating Harry Potter keepsake boxes shows no sign of wearing off.....so I present you
my latest piece...

It is stained and varnished to give it a wonderful aged antique look and feel.
The top of the box has many items associated with Harry, all of which were made by myself.

These include:

A miniature replica of Harry's Wand complete with stand, A wax seal from Hogwarts, A miniature replica of the Sorcerer's Stone (Philosopher's Stone in the UK), A miniature replica of Albus Dumbledore's biography written by Rita Skeeter, and two 'potion' bottles from Dumbledore's secret collection...one containing Troll Finger Bones and the other containing Mermaid Scales, both with labels created by myself.

The bottles, wand, stone, book and seal are not attached to the box - this is to reduce shipping costs. They will be packed inside the box and full instructions will be included on how to attach (it's really easy by the way !!)

It is decorated on the top and sides with various Harry Potter labels and knick knacks including Harry's Hogwarts Invitation Letter and Envelope, Hogwarts Express Ticket, Pumpkin Juice Label, Honeydukes Label, Platform 9 3/4 Sign, a Ministry of Magic Logo and a Daily Prophet Logo.

"Adventure Is Out There"

This is a one of a kind wooden keepsake box I recently made.

It is themed after the wonderful Disney/Pixar film "Up" which tells the story of recently widowed Carl and his adventure with young Russell....and Dug the dog ?

It is without a doubt one of my favourite films of all time and it was a labour of love to make this.

The box itself features a table cloth sculpted from high quality polymer clay, and painted to resemble the type of tablecloth Carl would have in his new home.

On the table cloth are many keepsakes that Carl has collected and saved from his journey to Paradise falls including.....

A beloved framed picture of his wife, 'Ellie' - the frame is sculpted from polymer clay.

A treasured 'Bird' ornament that used to sit on his mantelpiece - sculpted from polymer clay.

A copy of his and Ellie's "My Adventure Book" and a copy of Russell's "Wilderness Explorer Handbook"

Carl's Grape Soda Badge

Some 'Snipe" chocolate !

The outside of the box is adorned with polymer clay balloons and photo's from Carl and Russell's new adventures...along with some very funny pictures of Dug.

The inside of the box also features some pictures of the new best friends......and some more of Dug.

The box has a very high quality finish, and has a magnetic clasp closing mechanism.

It is for sale via my etsy shop HERE

Potter Choccy

I decided to make some miniature Honeydukes chocolate / candy bars after I made some for the Harry Potter Keepsake Box.

They make a great pin and look pretty great in my honest humble opinion.

I am wearing one in the picture as you can see and it was by complete coincidence that my top looks like one of Hermione's LOL

If you want to buy one, you can do so by clicking HERE

I'm Just Wild About Harry

First of all I really need to apologise for the complete lack of posts since July 2012. I have been so busy with commissions and other projects that this blog got forgotten about :(

So here are some pictures and details of some of the recent projects I have been working on....

This is a Harry Potter wand plaque I did for myself in the summer. I bought 3 wands (Harry's, Hermione's and Dumbledore's) when I visited the Wizarding World of Harry Potter a couple of years ago and couldn't really display them properly so I just found this old piece of wood, cut it to size, stained it, attached the Hogwarts and house crests, attached some decorative screw hooks and the end product turned out exactly how I wanted.

I also started work on some Harry Potter inspired keepsake boxes. This is the first one (again, just made for myself). It features a miniature Harry, a chocolate frog and box, Gryffindor crest, Honeydukes chocolate bar (started) and Harry's Hogwarts invitation letter and envelope. The front features Harry's Hogwarts Express ticket and the sides feature various potion labels.

I have made another one for sale on etsy so keep an eye on my shop CHASING WHIMSIES because it will be added within the next few days.

One product already for sale are my wonderful Chocolate Frog pendants.

Made from polymer clay and varnished to look just like delicious glossy chocolate, the pendants are available now for sale at the price of $12.99.

So, that's what has been keeping me busy (amongst other things) but coming up in the next few months will be more themed keepsake boxes and film inspired pendants !!

Bye for now x
